Need a kick today?

This morning I wanted a little something extra, a kick for my juice.  It still surprises me how clearly the body knows what it needs, if only we are still enough to hear it.  Fresh ginger added to your meal, your tea or your juice will not only produce a warming effect but aids our digestion, cleanses the body by flushing toxins and reduces inflammation in the throat and sinuses.  And when used in cooking ginger makes food easier to digest.  Why don’t you try adding ginger to your diet this fall?  Even if you simply add a slice to your tea to steep, especially if you’re a bit congested.

Simple gingered green juice 

4 romaine leaves

2 large handfuls of kale

1 cucumber

4 celery stalks

¾-1 inch piece of ginger, peeled

1 green apple

½ lemon, juiced

 

Juice all the ingredients except lemon. Juice lemon before drinking + enjoy.
